Biography
Anna Gordon Torres was born in Australia and lives in San Antonio, Texas. She earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Dallas in 1991, a Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1996, and a master's degree in theology from St. Mary's University in 1996. Her career experience includes working at an attorney at her law firm. Anna Torres & Associates, P.C. Torres is a board member of the SA Can High School.[1][2]

Selection method

Judges of the probate courts are elected in partisan elections by the county they serve and serve four-year terms, with vacancies filled by a vote of the county commissioners.[3]
Qualifications
To serve on a county court, a judge must:[3]
- be at least 25 years old;
- be a resident of his or her respective county for at least two years; and
- have practiced law or served as a judge for at least four years preceding the election.
