Anna L. Piercy
Anna Piercy was a member of the Anaheim Union High Board of Trustees in California, representing Trustee Area 5. She assumed office in 2006. She left office on May 6, 2024.
Piercy won re-election to the Anaheim Union High Board of Trustees to represent Trustee Area 5 in California outright after the general election on November 8, 2022, was canceled.
Piercy passed away after a battle with cancer on May 6, 2024..[1]
Biography
Before serving on the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees, Piercy worked as a teacher in the district for 37 years. A resident of Cypress, California, Piercy has held a number of municipal offices, including city council member, mayor and mayor pro-term. She earned her associate degree from Long Beach City College and her bachelor's degree from California State University at Long Beach. As of 2014, Piercy had two daughters and four grandchildren.[2]

2014
Three seats on the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 4, 2014. In the Trustee Area 1 race, incumbent Al Jabbar faced challengers Maureen Christensen and Linda Lobatos and won re-election. The Trustee Area 2 race featured incumbent Annemarie Randle-Trejo and challengers Eleazar Elizondo, Thomas "Hoagy" Holguin and Roberto "Robert" Baeza. Randle-Trejo defeated her challengers and won re-election to the board. Anna L. Piercy, incumbent from Trustee Area 5, ran unopposed and won re-election by default.
This was the first time board members were elected by trustee area. Prior to 2014, the Anaheim Union High School District elected its members in at-large elections.

The election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbent Anna L. Piercy won re-election to Trustee Area 5 by default.[3]
Funding
The Orange County Registrar of Voters does not publish and freely disclose school board candidate campaign finance reports that were filed by paper in their office. Ballotpedia staffers directly requested this information, but the municipal office refused those requests to make that information public.

Piercy was endorsed by the Anaheim Secondary Teachers Association.[4]
