Anna Laven was a candidate for the Trustee Area 4 seat on the Kern High School District Board of Trustees in California. She ran against one incumbent and one fellow candidate in the general election on November 4, 2014.[1][2] Anna Laven lost the general election on November 4, 2014.
Biography
Laven was raised in Bakersfield, California. She works as an educator and policy analyst and holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from the University of California at Los Angeles. She and her husband have one daughter.[3]

2014
Four seats on the Kern High School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 4, 2014. In Trustee Area 1, incumbent Mike Williams faced challenger Aurora Cooper and won re-election. The Trustee Area 2 seat was up for election due to a vacancy on the board. Jeff Flores was the only candidate to file for the seat. He ran unopposed and won the election by default. The Trustee Area 4 race featured incumbent Martha McCuen Miller and challengers Anna Laven and Phillip Peters. Peters defeated Miller and Laven to win a seat on the board. In Trustee Area 5, incumbent Bryan Batey ran unopposed and won re-election by default.

Funding
Laven reported $18,679.98 in contributions and $10,004.98 in expenditures to the Kern County Registrar of Voters as of September 30, 2014, leaving her campaign with $8,675.23 cash on hand.[4]
Endorsements
