Anne Barnes is a judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals. She assumed office on January 1, 1999. Her current term ends on December 31, 2028.

Barnes ran for re-election for judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals. She won in the general election on May 24, 2022.

Barnes served as chief judge from 2007 to 2008.[1][2]

Education

Barnes earned her bachelor's degree from Georgia State University, graduating magna cum laude in 1979. She received her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1983 and her LL.M. in judicial process from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2004.[3]

Career

Barnes was an attorney in private practice from 1984 until her election to the Georgia Court of Appeals in 1998.[4]
