The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent John Mann was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Anne Cartwright was unopposed in the Republican primary. Mann and Cartwright faced off in the general election.[5] Incumbent Mann defeated Cartwright in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[6]
