Anne Gardner
Anne Gardner was a justice on the Texas Second District Court of Appeals. She was appointed to this court by Republican Governor George W. Bush on January 1, 2000.[1] She was re-elected in 2010. She did not run for re-election in 2016, and her final term ended on December 31, 2016.[2]
Education
Justice Gardner received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1964 and her J.D. from the U.T. School of Law in 1966.[1]
Career
Gardner began her legal career in 1967 as a law clerk for Leo Brewster of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. In 1971, she became a partner of the law firm Simon, Peebles, Haskell, Gardner & Betty. After 13 years, she left to partner with the firm McLean & Sanders for 4 years. In 1988, she became the senior partner of Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller. She worked in this position until her appointment to the Court of Appeals in 2000.[1]
