I am an Artist and stay at home Mom of 2 young kids on the South side of Billings. My husband is an electrician with the IBEW. We are a proud union family and we know first hand how hard the skyrocketing cost of living in Montana is impacting young families. My great-great grandparents farmed the high line of Montana after fleeing war in Germany. My extended family still farms up north and as a 5th generation Montanan I carry the hard working motivation to make my community a better place and help my neighbors in need.
  • I just want everyone to be free to live their best lives without government overreach into their personal decisions.
  • I want everyone to have a fair shake at building wealth for themselves and their families. I want everyone to be able to retire with dignity and have the health care and services they need.
  • I want everyone to be able to access and enjoy our state's vast and pristine public lands and waterways.
Healthcare privacy and access, affordable childcare and public education, workers rights and preserving our beautiful state.
Someone curious, open-minded and willing to listen the their constituents and learn how policies will actually impact people's lives beyond the intent of the policy. Someone who cares about people, kids and leaving the world a better place.
I am someone who is willing to step out of their comfort zone to learn and make positive change. I care deeply about all of our kids and the environment they are growing up in. As a Mom, I understand the issues that face caregivers in working toward their own life goals. As a relatively young woman compared to our current legislature I will bring the voice of the people who have struggled to get ahead with the myriad economic setbacks that have occurred in our lifetimes that had much less of an impact on the generation that came before us.
To negotiate on behalf of the working poor, and middle class families who make up so much of our population. To ensure we live in a society where there is equitable access to opportunities for living a good life regardless of circumstances that are out of an individual's control.
A pristine state with clean air and water, parks and schools to benefit our kids, and a thriving democracy in Montana and beyond.
I remember the first Iraq War as a child watching the news with my parents. So many historical events followed as a result of that offensive. I was a sophomore in High School when the twin towers fell. When we went back to war in Iraq shortly after I had many friends who were nearing 18 that were terrified of being drafted.
I was a janitor in high school at a bank in downtown Billings. I worked that job all through high-school and also spent some time working as a janitor in Bozeman during college. You learn a lot about a person's character when you see how they treat the people who do the dirty jobs for them.
Too many to choose just one! I love fiction and non-fiction reading and wish I had 200 years on this earth so I could learn all the things I am interested in.
Trying to invest and save for the future while living paycheck to paycheck.
A respectful, professional relationship of equal branches of government who respect each other's roles in managing our state.
Our aging population will be needing more care than we have currently available and funded. We are tasked with making the state a place where wages and basic incomes are ample enough to cover the cost of living. Allowing for people who aren't the ultra-rich to build wealth. Balancing our tax system so it no longer favors corporations over residents.
There is always a benefit to experience in understanding the legislative process. There is also a benefit of arriving with a new mind that is able to reach creative solutions.
Yes. Solutions need to be supported by a majority of legislators in order to pass into law.
I heard about an elderly woman in Great Falls who lost her home due to living on a fixed income. She was unable to get a bed in their shelter one winter night and froze to death in the alley. While she had been a community member for decades, she was identified simply as a transient in reporting of her death. This feels like it will become a much more common theme as the Republican Supermajority in partnership with out current Governor have chosen to do nothing over the past few years to stop property taxes from skyrocketing for homeowners.
How many tickles does an octopus have? 10 tickles! (Tentacles)
Waiting on endorsements to be announced but I have worked with many through their processes.
Without transparency and government accountability, we can not fight the corruption that has occurred and future corruption issues.
As spelled out in our constitution the power of the people to bring ballot initiatives is crucial to our democracy in Montana. Recent pushes to make that pathway more difficult to navigate constitute a blatant attempt to silence the people.
