Annette Collazo is a 12-year teacher and community organizer. She is proud to be a first-generation Cuban-American. From an early age, Annette learned the value of hard work by observing the sacrifices her parents made to as they fled Communist Cuba and worked hard to provide for their family here and relatives still in Cuba. With the untimely passing of her parents, Annette would learn the meaning of resilience by observing the strong women that are at the core of her family: her sisters. Annette understands that stories of hardship are not unique, they are what make people in our district strong - because she is a leader who lives it. Annette is running to be the next State Representative for Florida's 110th District because she knows we deserve a leader who lives it - who knows what it's like to fight hard every day to make a better life for ourselves and our families. She is a "Democrat from Hialeah," meaning she is someone that can put herself in others shoes and collaborate with people on both sides of the aisle. Annette will always put her community first, not special interests or partisan politics.
  • Not business as usual: We need a leader in Tallahassee that will do the hard work of listening to the community and working with people on all sides- not someone who is beholden to special interests and puts their political party above people.
  • Empower Individuals: As a teacher, Annette will work hard for our students and their families. Students are impacted by a lack of investment in education, but also by the problems their families face. We need to empower individuals with education and economic opportunities.
  • Strengthen Families: We need to strengthen families by prioritizing economic resilience and expanding access to healthcare.
-COVID-19: Prioritizing our health and ensuring CARES Act funding goes to where we need it most: protecting our frontline workers and first responders, our elderly, those with underlying medical conditions, and pregnant women. Ensuring that people can get back to work safely and that small businesses receive the support they need right now.

-Education: Increasing teacher pay across the board. Engaging real-world curriculum for all students, including students with disabilities. Improved awareness/programs/services for students with Autism.

-Healthcare: Expanding Medicaid to the 800,000 Floridians in the coverage gap. Protecting coverage for pre-existing conditions. Supporting youth and senior mental health.

-Economy: Addressing the high cost of living in the district. Consumer protections for rising insurance costs. Supporting minimum wage increases while also supporting small businesses. Making our tax dollars work for us right here in Hialeah, Miami Lakes, and NW Dade, not for special interest.

-Mineblasting: Reducing the impact of mine blasting on homes. Allowing homeowners to be compensated for damages to their homes. Exploring excavation as an alternative to blasting.

-Traffic and Tolls: Reducing tolls and redirecting funds back to our community. Working with localities to bring real solutions to traffic.

-Environment: Protecting our natural resources and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
