There was a Anthony Community Incorporation measure on the January 5 ballot in Dona Ana County for residents in the community of Anthony.
Residents in the community sought to become a municipality, where they hope they will be able to have more power over their town and take the power from the county in deciding what happens with them. Opponents felt that this would just lead to higher taxes and increased government involvement.[1]
