Donofrio ran for election to the Seventh District Court of Appeals.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014, receiving 68 percent of the vote. He competed against David Lee Engler.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Carol Ann Robb.

Donofrio received his undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University and his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law.[4]
Career
Donofrio serves as the deputy law director for Youngstown, Ohio. He has previously worked as an assistant county prosecutor for Mahoning County and as an attorney in private practice.[4]
