Anthony J. Ferrara
Anthony J. Ferrara is a former judge for the New York City Criminal Court of New York County, New York. He was appointed to the Civil Court in December of 2004, but was assigned to served on the Criminal Court. Previously, he served throughout 2004 as an Interim Judge of the Civil Court. He was reappointed in 2005 and 2007.[1] He was removed from the bench in October 2017 and retired at the end of 2017.[2]
Education
Ferrara received his B.A. from Manhattan College in 1968 and his J.D. from Columbia University Law School in 1971.[1]
Career
Ferrara began his career in 1975 as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan. He then worked as a private practice lawyer from 1980 through 2003. In January of 2004, he was appointed an interim judge of the civil court and, in December of 2004, he was reappointed to a permanent position. He was assigned to serve on the criminal court.[1]
