Anthony Kline
J. Anthony Kline is the former presiding justice of the California First District Court of Appeal, Division Two. He was appointed to the court by Governor Jerry Brown in 1982. He was most retained by voters in 2014 to a 12-year term ending on January 3, 2027.[1][2][3] On December 15, 2021, Kline retired from the bench.[4]
Education
Kline received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1960, his M.A. from Cornell University in 1962, and his LL.B. from Yale Law School in 1965.[5]

Gun company liable for shooting rampage (1999)
In a 2-1 decision, the appeals court ruled that gun manufacturer Navegar could be sued for the 1993 shooting spree in a San Francisco high rise committed by Gian Luigi Ferri. The ruling, written by Justice Kline, said the company marketed their products to "persons attracted to or associated with violence". It was later reversed by the California Supreme Court.
