I was raised in New York City in a middle class family. As a young man, I started out working manual labor jobs. I moved out from my parents at a young age and working 2 jobs I was able to support myself. I completed High School in 1976 and I graduated from City College of New York in 1981 with a Bachelor's Degree,
In 1985, I joined the Virginia Beach, Va. Police Department, where I remained working for 30 years, retiring in 2015 as a Sergeant. In those 30 years on the Police force, I was a Field Training Officer, taught in the Academy as a State Certified Instructor, on the Mobile Tactics Squad, and graduated from West Point Leadership.
Upon my retirement in 2015, I moved to Clark County, Nevada where I became immersed in politics. I currently am a Trustee for the Clark County Republican Central Committee, a Nevada State Republican Delegate, and the Chairman of the Law Enforcement Loyalty PAC.

My name is Tony Palmer, and I am running for the Nevada Assembly-

District 7. I am married, and live in Las Vegas. I have 4 adult children and 3 grandchildren. I retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department as a Sergeant in 2015, with 30 years service.

Having lived in Nevada for the past 5 years, and seeing laws that favored criminals instead of law abiding tax payers, anti-2nd Amendment laws and pro abortion laws are in the works that would violate the Constitutional rights of both the citizens, and the yet to be born, among other anti citizen legislation either instituted or being proposed, I decided to take a stand, and run for the General Assembly.

When I am elected, I pledge to try my best to make positive changes

for the citizens of Nevada.
  • Issue #1- Taxes. In the past, the state has collected more taxes than needed. As they raised taxes, they included m

Number 1- NO NEW TAXES.

a) The last 2 legislatures significantly raised taxes. I will roll
back the tax hikes and cut the unnecessary government waste.
b) We are required to report annual mileage on vehicles. This will
result in another new tax in the future.
c) Talk is that the Democrats will attempt to start a State Income Tax. NEVER!

Number 2- Right to life:
To get a bill passed, I would agree to the following:
a) heartbeat bill- once heartbeat detected- approx 6 weeks, no
abortion is allowed.
b) the doctor must have admission rights to hospital
c) mandated counseling 24 hours before abortion

Number 3: Our 2nd Amendment rights- we must protect a citizen's
constitutional rights for firearms

Number 4- Education Reform
a) School Choice- this means you can change schools as desired. You-
the parent- can determine the best school for your child
b) Fund ESA's- Education Savings Accounts- so you- the parent, can
choose private schools/ home schooling for your children

Number 5- Public Safety- I am a retired Police Sergeant having served
on the VBPD for 30 years.
a) no Sanctuary Cities- so many public safety/ officer safety issues
that they cannot be allowed

Number 6- Veterans Rights- helping homelessness veterans by having
State Advocate to assist with applying at VA for full benefits.

Number 7- 1st Amendment rights- Bring back Prayer in school, at public

meetings and bring back the Pledge of Allegiance in schools.
Benjamin Franklin. He was inventive, intelligent, and one of the original American Patriots.
I am honest, truthful, and believe in people. I love children, and have been in public service serving the community for 30 years.
I made a piece of the world a better place.
In 1981, my 1st child, Michael, was born (prematurely). He passed away after 9 days. I was 23. This event showed me how precious each and every child is.
I was raised primarily in New York City, where I grew up in apartments in areas such as Woodhaven, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, and South Jamaica. My 1st job was working in a florist as a delivery driver when I was 16. After that, I worked in grocery stores, drove a tow truck, I've worked as a warehouseman, and drove trucks for a living among many other jobs. I was a teamster in Local 707. I went to college in Harlem, where I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the City College of New York in 1981.
In 1985 I moved to Virginia Beach, Va where I joined the Police Department. I retired in 2015 after 30 years service as a Sergeant.
Yes. Growing up in New York City, I saw crime, mental health issues, and poverty on every street.
No! Too many legislators are beholden to interest groups, and they play the system- often going contrary to their campaign promises.
Taxes. In the past, the state has collected more taxes than needed. As they raised taxes, they included many needless programs and produced great amounts of waste with the money raised. This is your money you gave to them. I made a prediction a few months ago that within the next 2 legislatures that a State Income Tax would be initiated. Now with a budget shortfall, this
appears to be closer to a reality. The Democrats will be pushing for it. It must be stopped before it starts to gather steam.
The Governor has a great amount of power. But the Legislature is represented by voters across the entire state. The Governor should listen to what the Legislature has to say.
Yes. When elected, I will form a coalition with other Conservative Assembly persons to pass proper laws and policies.
Yes. With the corona virus shutdown, 2 waitresses at a restaurant that I frequent were laid off. They both have families, and one has heart issues. Hearing that we would be receiving $1000 stimulus money, I gave them each $500.
