Paradiso graduated from Long Island University in 1989 with his B.A. In 1992 he earned his J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law and his M.P.A. from Syracuse University. Below is a summary of his professional experience:[1]

Paradiso ran for a seat on the 1st District Nassau County District Court. He was defeated by Susan T. Kluewer in the general election on November 6, receiving 48.02 percent of the vote.[5][6]

Primary: After winning 22.29 percent of the Independence Party votes in the September 13th primary, Paradiso moved on to the November 8th general election.[7]
General: Paradiso ran successfully in the general election, receiving 19.13 percent of the vote.[8]

Judges of the New York District Courts are each elected to six-year terms in partisan contested elections. They face reappointment at the end of each term. To serve on this court, a judge must be a state and county resident, at least 18 years old and practice in the state for 10 years. This court has a mandatory retirement age of 70 years old.[9][10]
