Anthony Vaupel is an associate judge of the Ninth Circuit Court of Illinois. He was first appointed to the position by the Ninth Circuit Court in January 2017.[1]
Vaupel previously served as a judge of the Ninth Circuit Court. He was appointed to that position by the Illinois Supreme Court on November 16, 2015, to replace retired judge James B. Stewart. Vaupel's term expired on December 5, 2016, when he was replaced by the winner of the November 2016 election for the seat, Heidi A. Benson. Vaupel announced in November 2015 that he would not seek the seat.[2]
Biography
Vaupel earned an undergraduate degree from Knox College and a J.D. from Ohio Northern University.[1]
At the time of his appointment as an associate judge, Vaupel was an adjunct professor for Carl Sandberg College. His professional experience also includes work for the Galesburg firm Barash & Everett LLC. Vaupel has also served on the board of directors for the Knox County Teen Court and worked with the Knox County Drug Court and the Defenders of Freedom Veterans Home and Shelter.[3][2]
