|New Jersey needs to improve access to mental health care and addiction services because these programs save lives. I cosponsored a law that strengthens mental health condition and substance use disorder parity laws in New Jersey by requiring health insurers to provide an equal level of coverage for mental health and substance abuse services. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we must eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction. I will continue working on legislation to make these life-saving services more accessible for all who need them.
Expanding Economic Justice-
Economic opportunity should be within reach for everyone, not just the people at the top. I strongly supported the $15 minimum wage increase passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor this year. This landmark legislation will increase the weekly incomes of over 1 million New Jersey residents, allowing hardworking people to provide for their families and gain a foothold in the middle class. I cosponsored a new law that will allow more workers to participate in the Paid Family Leave Program when they need to take time from work to care for a loved one. As a long-time union leader, I know the value of prioritizing people over corporate profits. I will continue to be a fierce advocate for progressive legislation that holds corporations accountable to protect workers, consumers, and our environment.
Restoring Aging Infrastructure-

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
