I moved to Utah from small town Idaho when I was 19. Graduated school and started cutting hair professionally at 21.

Bought my first house at 25 and opening a Salon at 30, cemented the fact that I was an out and proud resident of Utah. My love of Utah has grown with every passing year. I have lived downtown since 1987 and in House District 21 for the last 22 years. First in Northpoint for 9 years on 5 acres and now in the Fairpark area where I have spent the last 13 years remodeling an old brick home. I love this part of SLC from its wetlands on the south end of the Great Salt Lake to its vibrant, diverse West side communities. My life time love of horses, and all animals, has taught me to be responsible, to plan ahead, and how to work with quickly changing circumstances. It has also given me the opportunity to enjoy much of Utahs wilderness. Between trail riding and hiking I have spent an abundant amount of time in magnificent mountains, parks , and rural areas. I have a deep love and connection to Utah from lively downtown SLC to its most rural communities. Being involved with many diverse community groups, teaching yoga for 18 years, and standing behind my chair cutting hair for the last 37 years has given me the opportunity to hear the stories of hundreds of Utahans. Stories that I feel puts

me in an unique position to connect and understand what it will take to represent the great people of Utah
  • As a resident of the Westside I see a need for growth and improvements. The Westside has been left behind

Improvements in many different ways. Growth is finally happening and I want to see it happen in a responsible way. New apartments/housing should be mandated to take the neighborhoods in which they are being built

into consideration. Addressing the need for parking and the safety of the surrounding neighborhoods.
  • I believe that we are all equal and should be treated so by the law. The Westside is made up of a wonderful blend of diversity. I will represent and defend everyone fiercely.
  • With growth coming to the Westside I feel the need to address the increase in living expenses. Growth should not push families from their homes. Keeping food, utilities, and housing costs at a level that long time residents can afford is very important to me. I believe in the need for responsible financial aid and welfare programs as well as affordable healthcare.
The desire to improve society through legislation and regulations. By identifying problems through public input and implementing programs that affect public well-being in a positive manner.
