I am a man that has spent my career in the restaurant/hospitality industry. I started at the bottom in the dish room. Along the way I did every job including management. I started my own business and was self employed for over 40 years. I built and sold two national and international companies. I've employed thousand of people and negotiated hundreds of agreements. This lifetime of experience has put the tools in my toolbox that I will use in Washington. I am a business man and will take a business approach to government.
  • I want to help preserve the American Dream.
  • Government overreach is at an all time high.
  • We need to reduce the size of Federal Government and return power to the states.
We need to get serious about Term Limits. We have too many people in Washington that are more concerned about getting re-elected than truly representing their constituents. It's time that we change that and adopt a system that brings a constant supply of new people into government. We need new energy and new ideas. Not back room deal making that occurs among long time colleagues.
I'm really not a hero worshiper. As I read history I appreciate the 55 men that wrote the constitution more and more. Talk about getting a lot done in a short time. Wow. In modern times I remember Ronald Reagan. He came into office at a dark time for our nation. He gave people confidence in their government that they hadn't felt in a while. The economy got back on track and so did our military. Currently there are a couple people in Washington that I admire. Minority leader Kevin McCarthy and senator Rand Paul are among them.
You should be honest and not afraid to say exactly what you are thinking. You are "representing" others and it's important that you give them an opportunity to know exactly how your thought process works.
I am a skilled negotiator and business man. I can use these abilities in Washington.
I was a young boy when my brother served in Vietnam. I can remember watching the news and they would give the daily "body count". I can remember how horrible that was and never really understood what the war was about. We were always worried about my brother. He did return home unhurt but not unchanged.
I began working in Restaurants at age 15 as a dish washer. I didn't know it at the time but I was at the beginning of a career path that would last almost 5 decades. After doing just about every job in the restaurant industry I open my first pizza store in 1986. I grew that in to a national chain that became the first national pizza brand that focused on serving the Hispanic community. The company was called Pizza Patron and I sold the company 32 years later. Along the way I conceived and started Wingstop restaurants. It became the first truly national and international chicken wing chain. It went public and was the most successful restaurant IPO on Wall Street. I sold that company as well and now I'm completely focused on winning the congressional seat for Texas district 32.
Well is should be a body made up of people that represent the people in their district. Because they are allowed to remain in office for so long it has become a body of bureaucrats and Washington insiders.
China will be our biggest challenge internationally. Our relationship with China has become very unhealthy. They have too much of of our technology and manufacturing capability. Here at home we have another set of challenges. There is much division among us. I believe this division is fueled by our government.
This is possibly the most important issue with respect to how our government functions. We needs term limits now. It seems like everyone talks about it but after they get to Washington they get more interested in keeping their job than doing what best for the people. We need to have a constant supply of fresh ideas and energy in Washington.
Compromise is absolutely necessary in making most deals. I have negotiated many agreements in my business career. I have a funny saying for this. " The definition of a good deal is when everyone is equally unhappy." It's a give and take world. I am skillful in getting others to come around to my way of looking at something so the journey to get them over to my side is not so long.
I believe that revenue is not the problem. Spending is the problem. We raise the debt ceiling from time to time but never have a conversation about where we can cut expenses. The policy of continuing to borrow money does not have a happy ending.

Campaign website

Swad's campaign website stated the following:

The Biden Economy

"Our government is bankrupt, it's time to fix the problem at the source."

I want to cut and reform our broken tax code, send Americans back to work, and put America first by securing our border. I have built two successful businesses from scratch, without abusing debt, and always paying my bills. ‍ Ronald Reagan famously asked, "are you better off now than you were four years ago?" President Biden has dragged us into malaise of inflation, a broken job market, and a wide-open border in just 18 months. We need no-nonsense business smarts to Make America Great Again.

Securing The Border

"Border security is national protection."

My family came to this country the right way. We must stop punishing industrious Americans, and instead penalize lawbreakers. For decades, Washington has paid lip service to securing the border. The American people have had enough. Thousands of people are illegally pouring across our Southern border. We must build the wall and close our border to illegal immigration. We must put policies in place that send illegal crossers home or Americans will suffer.

Law Enforcement And Funding The Police

"Our men and women in blue are under siege, we must support them."

Violent criminals belong in jail, citizens deserve protection, and the police deserve the funding and respect they have earned. Left-wing radicals in big cities across America have advanced efforts to defund the police and roll back laws that protect businesses both large and small. Law-abiding citizens have suffered the consequences. Texans must never submit to the chaos and violence plaguing Democrat-run cities where crime is rampant and often going unpunished.

Putting American Energy First

"America is the world's energy superpower. We must act like it."

When we secure our energy future, we can further develop the key nuclear, solar, and other natural energy sources to push into a new century. There is no reason Americans should be paying higher prices at the gas pump. Democrats in Washington have crushed the energy industry, canceling key pipelines, demonizing Texas oil and gas reserves, and subsidizing expensive and unreliable sources of energy. The answer to America's energy crisis is to utilize our massive advantage in natural resources to not only keep the lights on, but to sell to our friends and allies.

American Foreign Policy

"America should lead by example from a position of strength."

When we operate from a position of strength, there is peace. When we operate from a position of weakness there is chaos.

President Biden’s leadership is weak and predictable. Russia and China are evaluating our nation as they consider their opportunities. Meanwhile, both our military and government are obsessed with lowering standards in the name of being inclusive and are driving seasoned warriors out of the military with a vaccine mandate. I support President Trump's approach to robust, strength-based foreign policy.

Educating Our Children

"Parents must play a key role preparing kids for the future."

Parents should have school choice and the power to oversee their children’s education.

Education needs to prepare our children for their future including higher education or the workforce. It is not about pushing an agenda or social experimentation. Bureaucrats in Washington kept our kids at home rather than in school, causing untold problems in social development and education. They have tried to push parents out of the decision-making processes.

Our tax dollars should never support left wing propaganda like Critical Race Theory, which perpetuates the very notions it claims to oppose. American kids should learn to read and write, as well as balance a checkbook. Young children must not be ‘groomed’ through exposure to sexuality before puberty is even on the horizon. Political ideology has no place in our schools.[3]
