I am Antwain Nance, a lifelong Mecklenburg County resident, former detention officer, and candidate for Sheriff committed to accountability, public safety, and constitutional leadership.

I entered public service to serve the people, not politics. I have firsthand experience inside the jail system and understand the importance of safe facilities, supported staff, and leadership that takes responsibility.

My campaign is focused on restoring public trust through professionalism, transparency, and fair enforcement of the law. The Sheriff’s Office must answer to the community it serves, uphold the Constitution, and lead with integrity.

People over politics. Accountability first.
  • Accountability comes first. The Sheriff must answer to the people, take responsibility for failures, and lead with transparency and integrity.
  • Public safety and constitutional policing go hand in hand. The law applies fairly to everyone, and the Constitution will be upheld without politics or favoritism.
  • Strong leadership protects both the community and those who serve. Safe jails, supported staff, and professional standards are essential to restoring public trust.
I am passionate about public safety, accountability in law enforcement, constitutional rights, and jail reform. I believe effective policing must protect the community while respecting civil liberties and the rule of law.

I am also deeply focused on supporting deputies and detention officers, ensuring safe working conditions, proper staffing, and leadership that values professionalism and responsibility. Strong policy, ethical leadership, and transparency are essential to restoring public trust and delivering real public safety.
