Anu Natarajan
Anu Natarajan was a member of the Fremont City Council in California. Natarajan assumed office on December 1, 2004. Natarajan left office on December 1, 2014.
Natarajan ran for election to the Bay Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors to represent District 6 in California. Natarajan lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Natarajan is a former member of the Fremont, California City Council, serving from December 2004 to December 2014. She was first appointed to the Council in 2004 when a seat was vacated by former Fremont Mayor Bob Wasserman (d. 2012). She went on to secure election and re-election in 2006 and 2010 respectively. Following Wasserman's death in 2012, Natarajan briefly held the position of Mayor Pro Tempore. In that same year, she ran for the Office of Mayor in Fremont, but lost to current Fremont Mayor Bill Harrison.[1][2]
Biography
Natarajan earned a B.A. in architecture from Bangalore University and an M.A. in urban planning from the University of Washington. Her professional experience includes working as an architect, a public agency planner, and an urban planning consultant.[1]

The city of Fremont, California, held elections for city council on November 4, 2014. The candidate filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was August 8, 2014.[3][4]
Two at-large council seats were up for election. The only incumbent in this race was Raj Salwan, who was appointed to the council in January 2013. A total of nine candidates filed for election. Challengers Rick Jones and Lily Mei won election to the city council.
