Local ballot measures

There were 182 measures on the ballots in this election.

• 31 property tax measures, 17 were approved
• 12 sales tax measures, 6 were approved
• 9 school bond measures, all of which were defeated
• 4 local video gambling measures
• 15 local school tax measures, only 4 of which were approved
• 96 electrical aggregation measures, 74 of which were approved
• 1 alcohol prohibition measure, which was defeated.

The remaining measures concerned administration of government, city and district bonds, property and other various topics.

Notable measures:

• A measure in Moultrie County sought to prohibit the sale of nearly all alcoholic beverages.

• Another measure in DuPage County would have made certain pension changes, shifting the burden of school pension costs from the state to local property taxpayers .
