The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 28, 2014. Archangel Muscato was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Judy Burges was unopposed in the Republican primary. Burges defeated Muscato in the general election.[2][3][4][5]
