Severson was a vocal supporter of the bipartisan bill H.R.2 - Secure the Border Act, which would have funded additional border agents and closed the border if too crowded. The immigration system is broken and needs to be fixed, and Severson will take up the mantle to fight for the rights of all people, regardless of their immigration status, and will ensure laws about asylum seekers are enforced.

Samantha believes in public education reform to improve accessibility for all. Additionally, their platform centers on affordable healthcare and housing, removing private wealth from politics, and establishing term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court. They believe in a person's right to bodily autonomy, and denounce all attacks on the transgender community. Living in a desert environment has informed Samantha’s advocacy to invest in renewable energy wherever and whenever possible. The continued reliance on finite resources is unsustainable.
