The Commitment to Public Education Amendment did not make the November 8, 2016, ballot in Arizona as an initiated constitutional amendment. The measure would have amended the Arizona Constitution to affirm the state's commitment to public education by mandating that cuts to education spending be approved by two-thirds of the legislature.[1]

Initiative proponents needed to collect 225,963 signatures by July 7, 2016, to land the measure on the ballot. Supporters did not, however, submit signatures by the deadline.[2]
