Every student in Arizona deserves a quality and equitable public education. I will always protect this right and fight for fully funded public edcuation. We must pay our teachers and staff a salary that is comparable to the surrounding states. We need more funding to increase the number of counselors at every school site. We have schools in our state that are literally falling down because that budget has not been funded for years. We need to update our school busses and be sure that our students are riding in safe transportation. I will also fight to end vouchers that take our public tax dollars and give them to private and charter schools with no oversight.

We must pass sensible gun legislation in Arizona. We need red flag laws. The age to purchase any sort of gun should be increased to 21. We need to close the loop holes for gun shows so that everyone who wants to purchase a gun has a waiting period and goes through a background check. We also need to reinstate the need for acquiring a license in order to carry a concealed weapon. There should never be guns allowed on any of our school campuses, included our universiites.

We must protect our rights. This includes the right to vote, the right to abortion and the the right to secure our water so that future generations can live in Arizona. I will always protect these rights.
I am passionate about all of the issues above; education, gun sense legislation and the protection of our rights to vote and choose what we do with our bodies. Our public policy should protect our fundamental rights. We need public policy in place to be sure that no person is discriminated against based on their race, religion, sex, who they love or how they live.
Our state must fix our public education system by fully funding it and not giving public tax money to private and charter schools with no accountability. If we do not do this, our public schools will collapse.
I believe compromise can be needed and valuable. However, when it comes to fundamental rights like voting and abortion care and public education, there isn't much room for compromise. Those are rights that we should all have.
