Ballot title

The ballot title for Measure Nos. 308-309 was as follows:

AN ACT TO CREATE A STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION COMPOSED OF THE GOVERNOR, SECRETARY OF STATE, STATE TREASURER, STATE AUDITOR AND CHAIRMAN OF THE STATE TAX COMMISSION WITH FULL AUTHORITY TO EQUALIZE THE VALUATION AND ASSESSMENT OF ALL PROPERTY THROUGHOUT THE STATE; TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE TAX COMMISSION OF ARIZONA SHALL PRESCRIBE A UNIFORM METHOD OF TAXATION TO BE USED IN DETERMINING THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF REAL ESTATE, AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 4849, CHAPTER IV, OF THE REVISED STATUTES OF ARIZONA, 1913, CIVIL CODE, FOR TAXABLE PURPOSES; TO DEFINE THE WORDS "REAL ESTATE," USED IN THIS ACT; THAT SUCH UNIFORM METHOD OF TAXATION PRESCRIBED BY THE SAID TAX COMMISSION SHALL SET FORTH AND INCLUDE ALL FACTORS TO BE USED IN DETERMINING SUCH UNIFORM VALUATION OF REAL ESTATE; THAT THE METHOD PRESCRIBED SHALL BE USED BY ALL TAX OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 1929, AND THEREAFTER IN THE VALUING OF REAL ESTATE; THAT THE TAX COMMISSION OF ARIZONA SHALL ASSUME JURISDICTION OVER ALL ERRONEOUS ASSESSMENTS AND SHALL HAVE AUTHORITY TO ORDER THE SETTLEMENT THEREOF; REPEALING ALL ACTS AND PARTS OF ACTS IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT.
