The Arizona State Legislative District Population Standards Amendment was not on the ballot in Arizona as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 3, 2020.

The ballot measure would have required the redistricting commission to draw state legislative districts so that the population difference between the state's largest and smallest districts is no more than 5,000 persons.[1]

In Arizona, a simple majority vote is needed in each chamber of the Arizona State Legislature to refer a constitutional amendment to the ballot for voter consideration.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 1018

The ballot measure was introduced into the Arizona State Legislature as Senate Concurrent Resolution 1018 (SCR 1018) during the 2020 legislative session. On March 10, 2020, the Arizona State Senate passed SCR 1018 in a vote of 16-14. Sixteen Senate Republicans voted for the proposal. All 13 Democrats and one Republican voted against the proposal.[2]
