In Arizona, a constitutional amendment requires a simple majority vote in each chamber of the Arizona State Legislature during one legislative session.

On February 17, 2021, the Arizona State Senate voted 16-14 to approve the constitutional amendment. Republicans voted for the amendment, and Democrats voted against the amendment. The constitutional did not receive a vote in the House.
