Arkansas Act 78, Appointed State Board of Education (1934)

Arkansas Act 78, the Appointed State Board of Education Referendum, was on the November 6, 1934 ballot in Arkansas as a veto referendum. The ballot measure was defeated, thus repealing the targeted legislation.[1]

Act 78 was enacted by the Arkansas State Legislature on March 6, 1933. Its purpose was to make positions on the State Board of Education appointed, rather than elected.[1]
