Arkansas District Courts
The Arkansas District Courts are trial courts with limited jurisdiction in Arkansas.[1]
District courts are divided into State District Courts and Local District Courts. State District Courts are staffed by full-time judges, and Local District Courts are staffed by part-time judges. Both types of district courts have their jurisdiction established by the Arkansas General Assembly. State District Courts can be county-wide, but may also include multiple smaller counties within their jurisdiction. Local District Courts are found in counties without a State District Court headquartered within them. Below is a list of both state and local district courts in Arkansas.
