The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Selection Amendment did not make the November 6, 2012 ballot in the state of Arkansas as an initiated constitutional amendment. The measure would have changed the way Game and Fish Commission members were selected. It would have also reduced the commission's conservation tax. According to reports, the group behind the measure was Sportsmen 2010.[1]
Path to the ballot
In order for supporters to place the measure on the ballot, 78,133 valid signatures must have been collected from state residents and submitted by the July 6, 2012 petition drive deadline.
Before signatures could be collected, however, wording of the ballot proposal must have been approved by the Arkansas Attorney General. On December 27, 2011, Dustin McDaniel rejected the wording of the measure, due to ambiguity.[1]
