The Arkansas Political Party Registration Referred Act, also known as Referred Act 457, was on the ballot in Arkansas on November 5, 1968, as a veto referendum. It was defeated. The measure would have approved a law that required voters to indicate their political party affiliation on their voter registration.[1][2]

The question on the ballot:

An Act to amend Sub-Section (8) of Section 6 of Amendment 51 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, to add thereto a requirement that each Registered Voter indicate on the Affidavit of Registration his political party affiliation, if any; and for other purposes.[2][3]
