The Arkansas School Property Tax Increase Referred Question, also known as Referred Question 1, was on the ballot in Arkansas on November 2, 2004, as a legislatively referred state statute, where it was defeated. The measure would have supported legislation that increased the statewide ad valorem property tax from 25 to 28 mills to support maintenance and operation of schools.[1]
