The Arkansas Single Candidate Elections Amendment was not on a 2016 election ballot in Arkansas as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment.
If approved, the measure would have authorized the general assembly to enact laws allowing a candidate for an office to be certified as elected without appearing on the ballot when he or she is the only candidate for the office.[1]

Section 22, Article 19, of the Arkansas Constitution says that a majority vote is required in both houses of the Arkansas Legislature in order to send a measure to the ballot.
The Arkansas Legislature did not take action on the bill; therefore, the measure was not put on the ballot.
