The Arkansas Term Limits Amendment did not make the November 4, 2014 ballot in Arkansas as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure would have limited the total number of years a state legislator may serve.[1]

While this amendment was not on the ballot, another amendment establishing term limits among other provisions was on the 2014 ballot as Issue 3 and was approved by voters. Click here to read about Issue 3 (2014).

According to the Arkansas Constitution, a majority vote is required in both chambers of the Arkansas State Legislature to refer a measure to the ballot. The measure died in a legislative committee sine die adjournment, meaning the committee did not assign a future meeting regarding the amendment.[1] Therefore, a vote did not occur in either chamber of the legislature.
