An Armada Township Police Levy Increase proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Macomb County, which is in Michigan where it was defeated.
This measure proposed to authorize the Armada Township to increase property taxes by up to 1.5 mills ($1.5 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 4 years in order to fun police protection services. The estimated first year revenue from this tax is $232,255.[1]

Language on the ballot:
| “ | Shall the constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the unincorporated area of the township, Macomb County, Michigan be increased by 1.5 mills ($1.50 for each $1,000.00) of the taxable value of such property, as finally equalized, for a period of four (4) years commencing 2012 and ending 2015, pursuant to 33 PA 1951, as amended, for the purpose of providing police protection within the Township of Armada?
The estimated revenue to be collected in the first year that the millage is authorized and levied is $232,255 for police protection with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department. The proposed millage represents a new additional millage.[1][2] |
