The November 4, 2014, general election in Brownsville Independent School District featured three seats up for election. The Position 1 race included five candidates. Incumbent Cesar Lopez ran against Roland L. Guerra, Armando Rodriguez, Juan N. Pacheco and Luci B. Longoria. Longoria was the Position 4 incumbent, however since candidates can change the position they run for at the time of filing, she opted to run for Position 1 instead. In the Position 2 race, Carlos Elizondo, Robert Rodriguez and Susan Fox ran for the seat of deceased board member Enrique Escobedo. In the Position 4 race, Joe Rodriguez, Shirley Ann Bowman and Mary Rey competed for Longoria's seat.

Funding

Candidates must file reports with the Texas Ethics Commission or the appropriate county clerk. They must disclose the amount of each contribution (or the value and nature of any in-kind contribution), the name and address of the individual or political committee making the contribution and the date of the contribution. Filers must also report all expenditures, including the date of an expenditure, the name and address of the person to whom the expenditure is made and the purpose of the expenditure.[2]

Endorsements
