Retired Veteran, Husband, Father, Grandfather, recently retired from second career and ready to make my district better by listening to you.
  • We need quality healthcare.
  • Balance in our government so that everyone is heard and has input. That will be my job.
  • Rebuild the middle class through affordable education for all, Increased opprtunities for all, Justice for all and a helping hand up to full participation.
Veterans issues, Health Care, Education, Inclusion, Justice, DIsability rights, Immigration and fully understanding and explaining how we spend taxpayer dollars.
The book "Into the Wild". The book details a young man's exploration of the world by opening himself to others he meets along his Journey. The great classic Book, "Travels with Charlie". The movie "The Grapes of Wrath". They all speak to me about the need to understand first, be it people, issues or the challenges we face.
Honesty and openly communicating with the voters of our district.

Working for the people, not self interest.

Devoting themselves to the job of representing the people.
I am kind, a good listener and I will answer questions fully and concisely.
To understand and communicate with the voters of the district. To represent the voters.
That me being there, made a positive difference.
I worked at a Mom and Pop grocery store during the summer after my 15th Birthday. I worked there all summer.
"Sheherd of the Hills"
One of my great frustrations in life is an organization that is not true to its stated objectives. Don't say it if you don's do it.
Unfortunately we currently live with a supermajority in both houses and the Governor. This blurs the lines between the traditional functions of the two chambers. The result is we get laws that are skewed to the party in power at the time. The partisan changes deliver laws that make a portion of the voters happy but trigger subsequent reversals once the other party returns to power. Essentially legislators address the same issues over and over. It will be far better to jointly develop laws that reflect acceptance by both sides. That acceptance is created by talking to the opposition and including their inputs at the start of the lawmaking process rather than fighting it out in clourt fter the laws are enacted.
I do not know which is better but I do strongly believe that the character, intent and follow through of whoever is elected is the most important important determinant.
Clear, understandable communication from government to the citizens.

How to develop, fairly develop and fully explain taxation.
Keep a tight lid on expenditures.
Quality healthcare that is affordable.
Justice for all.
Build a foundation for future generations to build upon.
The environment must have immediate, effective remediation at sustainable costs, understanding we will never get another shot to do this correctly.

Rebuild the middle class, improve the opportunities for all citizens.
To check and balance one another from the perspective of proponent and the loyal opposition.
Yes to understand their perspective and to communicate to other legislators our district's opinions and perspectives.
A Non Partisan process with oversight by the courts.
Possibly but only after asking the voters in my district. I would be open to the needs of the legislature and the advice of the voters in my district.
My neighbor Dick, is a World War II Veteran who worked on the Manhattan project. He travelled the world after serving 10 years in the Army and is a member of the United States Tennis Hall of Fame. He is one of my Heroes. I am amazed by the people who live in our district and know there are a great number of other people and all ages who have important life stories. I love to learn from them by understnding what they have experienced, overcome and built.
