Arthur D'Andrea is a former member of the Texas Public Utility Commission. He was first appointed to the commission by Governor Greg Abbott (R) in November 2017. [1] On March 3, 2021, Governor Abbott appointed D'Andrea chair of the commission.[2]

On March 16, 2021, D'Andrea announced he would resign effective immediately upon his successor's appointment.[3]

Arthur D’Andrea earned a bachelor of science from The University of Texas at Austin and a juris doctor degree from The University of Texas School of Law. His career experience includes working as an assistant general counsel for the Office of Governor Greg Abbott and as an assistant solicitor general for the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.[1]

D'Andrea began serving as a member of the Texas Public Utility Commission in 2017, when he was appointed to the commission by Governor Greg Abbott. [1] On March 3, 2021, Governor Abbott appointed D'Andrea chair of the commission.[2] D'Andrea resigned after a leaked recording was discovered on which he promised investors that he would block the reversal of billions of dollars in charges for wholesale electricity during Texas' power crisis in February 2021.[4]
