Arthur Jean
Arthur Jean was a judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California.[1] He was appointed to the court by former Republican Governor George Deukmejian in May 1987 and retired from the bench on April 30, 2014.[2]
Education
Jean received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Harvard University.[3]
Career
From 1985 until his appointment to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 1987, Jean served as a judge for the Long Beach Municipal Court. Prior to his judicial career, Jean served as a deputy district attorney.[2]
Elections
2012
Jean ran for re-election to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 2012. As an unopposed incumbent, his name did not appear on the ballot. After the primary election, Jean was automatically re-elected.[4]
