Arthur L. Nims, III was an Article I federal judge for the for the United States Tax Court.[1][2] Nims was appointed to the court by President Jimmy Carter on June 29, 1979 and took senior status on June 1, 1992.

Education

Nims earned his B.A. from Williams College in 1947 and his LL.B. from the University of Georgia Law School in 1949. He earned his LL.M. from New York University in 1952.[2]

Military service

Nims served as a Lieutenant in the Naval Reserves on active duty during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
