Arthur May is a husband, father, and neighbor running for Denver City Council District #7 on a Christian worldview. As a Software Product Management leader for most of my career I've had to turn underperforming, poor quality products into industry leading products. It is my hope that I can use my understanding of people's needs and building to solve those needs can be applied to this public service opportunity.
  • The worldview on which I am campaigning is grounded in truth and has stood the test of time since the beginning of creation
  • If elected, I will seek leadership from each RNO to serve as staff for our district office.
  • On homeless, we plan to engage our church communities to help. On education, we plan to put the parent first. On public safety, we need to support our local law enforcement and emergency response teams.

Community Question Featured local question
Yes, crime rates are rising. I get crime rate data from denvergov.org. The first change I would make is to not focus only on violent crime. I would focus on all crime.
Community Question Featured local question

Extremely, and on a frequent basis. I plan to host ask me anything sessions and polls on how to vote on key measures.
Community Question Featured local question
Public record requests should be handled as transparently and expeditiously as possible. It's the people's government.
Community Question Featured local question
1) Encourage citizens to report all crime 2) Enforce the laws 3) Seek reform where laws can't be enforced. I do have a different stance than current city council policy.
Community Question Featured local question
For opportunities that impact my district I would seek input from the RNOs. I would take gentrification and displacement into consideration if the impacted residents are in favor of it.
Community Question Featured local question
I would poll the district to prioritize the key areas of policy and focus on the top three. I would give the community opportunities to weigh in on any and all policy and budget decisions.
Community Question Featured local question
I think the city's approach to public safety is to empathize with the criminal instead of enforcing the law. I would enforce the law.
Community Question Featured local question
If the city has an environmental health problem, I would look at measurable ways to address, it but not at the expense of public safety, education, homelessness and housing.

I would make sure the police department in my district is funded proportionate to the amount of crime. I would seek to reduce the amount of operational overhead required for making arrests and ensuring public safety.
Community Question Featured local question
I would not have destroyed businesses, children's education, and printed and endless supply of money.
I'm passionate about any public policy area where the city spends money without a clear understanding of the ROI.
Each district has it's own history and culture and therefore different needs. I think change start locally then works its way up to be effective long term.
A worldview that doesn't change with every issue of the day
When I sin, I repent. I have a worldview that is well documented.
Put the needs of the residents of the district first, provide measurable value to the district.
I was salt and light and my light could not be covered.
My very first job was an associate at McDonald's when I was 16. I worked there until I was 20 and became a store manager.
The Bible because of it is inerrant and contains all wisdom.
Thinking I can be a good person on my own without Christ.
The salary for the position is $95K and you are given $260K for an office. I plan to serve the district full time and if possible, donate the salary.
I do not. In fact it should be preferred. We should be a government of the people, not necessarily professional politicians.
An understanding of the neighborhoods in the district and their needs. Stay focused on those and not try to impose federal and state issues because they aren't always the same.
How much does a pirate pay for his corn? A buck an ear.
