Article 12 of the Texas Constitution is labeled Private Corporations. Of its seven sections, five have been repealed.

Creation by General Laws

No private corporation shall be created except by general laws.[1]

Section 2

Text of Section 2:

General Laws to Be Enacted; Protection of Public and Stockholders

General laws shall be enacted providing for the creation of private corporations, and shall therein provide fully for the adequate protection of the public and of the individual stockholders.[1]
