As registration deadlines loom, new state website gains traffic

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah: The state of Utah's new voter info website has seen a boom in traffic as voter registration deadlines approach. The site, Vote.Utah.Gov, has seens thousands of visitors in the past weeks. The site offers forms and information for mail-in and online registration. The state site also provides information on early voting, state candidates, and fall ballot issues. In addition, the site provides information on the states new voter ID requirements.[1]
Voter registration ends October 4th for online and mail-in registration. Registration ends October 18 for in-person registration.
Ballotpedia research has found significant competition in the state's 2010 legislative elections. In the 75 house seats up for election, only 3 incumbents face no primary or general election challenger. All state senate incumbents face a primary or general election challenger.
Heading into the November 2 election, Republicans hold a majority in both the House and Senate.
