I was motivated to run because I have always been called to action when I hear the concerns of my neighbors. Like the folk in Baldwin & the Beaches, dealing with erosion, & plastic pollution; the people in northside & east Jacksonville dealing with one of the highest rates of food insecurity & contaminated soil in the state, & those on the Southside, Westside, and ALL over Jacksonville that needs resilient solutions for the flooding they experience every day. I care & will act.
- I am the ONLY group 4 that has experience working with the Duval Soil & Water Conservation District. I have been an active volunteer for over a year and attend ALL meetings because i truly care..
- I am qualified & ALREADY DOING THE WORK of supporting the board, citizens, schools, affiliates & city officials; as a subject matter expert to the Jacksonville City Council's subcommittee for resiliency, community garden leader, mentor of students, former substitute teacher, volunteer & board member of environmental organizations.
- This year you have the opportunity to elect some one that is already doing the work that other candidates plan to do. You have the opportunity to elect someone who is qualified, cares, has a platform, has a tangible plan & some one who is motivated to make a difference. I Ashantae Green, am that someone! I will work for the people & the plant, & prioritize the economy, the environment & everyone to grow #AGreenDuvalForALL.
2. Expertise in environmental topics & education would also be helpful. I am educated in sustainable construction, Sustainability Management (Louisiana State Univerity) & Sustainable Agricultural & Urban Land Management (University of Florida). ✅
3. Not only should the holders of this office bring passion, but they should also be knowledgable of issues and solutions facing soil and water, posses partnerships, and have evidence of commitment for education & being community-facing. ✅
4. The work of the office is grant-funded so fundraising & grant writing would be helpful. ✅
