Ashley Paul Thomas is a judge for the 37th Judicial District in Louisiana. He was elected on November 4, 2014, taking office on January 1, 2015. His term will expire at the end of 2020.[1][2]

Thomas ran for election to the 37th Judicial District.
Primary: He was elected in the primary on November 4, 2014, receiving 75.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Wes Burns.

Education

Thomas received an associate and bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Northeast Louisiana University. He went on to earn a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a J.D. from Southern University Law Center.[3]

Career

Prior to his judicial election in 2014, Thomas was an attorney at the law firm of Mckeithen, Ryland, Champagne and Domangue and a criminal defense attorney for Caldwell Parish. Before law school, Thomas was a deputy sheriff, a probation officer and a parole officer with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.[3]
