With a strong foundation in education, I held a California multiple-subject teaching credential before transitioning to post-secondary education. I am currently the program lead responsible for recruitment and admissions for the Master of Innovation & Entrepreneurship program at UCI. I have led recruitment and admissions efforts for various state-supported, self-supporting (revenue-generating), and two cross-departmental programs.

My 16 years of experience in education—including roles at UC Irvine, USC, and MIT—have prepared me to be an impactful board member focusing on advancing education for all Fountain Valley School District students.

As a parent of a school-aged child attending one of our schools, I have valuable first-hand experiences through the lens of both a student and a parent.

My professional accomplishments are complemented by my deep involvement in the community, serving as a room parent, on School Site Council, directing the Newland Variety Show, and as a Girl Scout leader. At UCI, I also served on the Chancellor's Club Leadership Council, supporting educational excellence and institutional advancement.

I hold a degree in Criminology, Law, and Society from UC Irvine and a Master of Arts in Education from Pepperdine University.
  • Priority 1) High-quality education: FVSD has made considerable progress in enhancing instructional improvement. I want to keep this momentum. I will keep a strong focus on the core curriculum and targeted professional development for teachers. Creating a supportive environment that fosters engagement and allows for differentiated instruction is essential.
  • Priority 2) Safety: School safety begins when our children step outside to go to school. There are opportunities to collaborate with the two cities to evaluate crosswalks and traffic patterns. I will advocate for implementing further layers of security within our school campuses to enhance our comprehensive security plan.
  • Priority 3) Fiscal Responsibility: I will prioritize investments that impact student learning and well-being, ensuring every student receives the education and support they deserve while maintaining a fiscally sound budget. I will collaborate with my fellow trustees to utilize my extensive background in educational recruitment to develop a strategic plan to increase enrollment.
My bachelors degree is in law, complemented by a masters in education. I have always been passionate about the intersection of these two fields, which is why I am particularly interested in education policy.

A strong work ethic, attentive listening skills, and the ability to be a team player.
School Board Members are elected to represent their communities. They have a responsibility to assess the needs and interests of the community while being accountable for the performance of their schools.
The school board's role is to ensure that the district is responsive to their communities' values, beliefs, and priorities. The board establishes the district's direction by creating an effective structure, fostering a supportive environment, ensuring public accountability, and showcasing community leadership.
I am very active in our city and community gatherings. Building relationships with the wider community involves a blend of engagement, openness, and active participation. It is important to work and learn from those who do not have children currently in the district.
There is an opportunity to expand the elementary science curriculum by incorporating more hands-on learning experiences and technology, which excites children and encourages them to think about more complex concepts.
I want to ensure every child is safe getting to and from school and at their school site. Additionally, I support comprehensive measures that prioritize the well-being of our students.
I am dedicated to regularly participating in school and district events. I believe active listening, while being approachable and accessible, is essential for learning and gaining trust with parents.
Financial transparency and government accountability are essential in fostering public trust. They promote responsible governance and ensure public funds are used effectively and efficiently.
