|My 16 years of experience in education—including roles at UC Irvine, USC, and MIT—have prepared me to be an impactful board member focusing on advancing education for all Fountain Valley School District students.
As a parent of a school-aged child attending one of our schools, I have valuable first-hand experiences through the lens of both a student and a parent.
My professional accomplishments are complemented by my deep involvement in the community, serving as a room parent, on School Site Council, directing the Newland Variety Show, and as a Girl Scout leader. At UCI, I also served on the Chancellor's Club Leadership Council, supporting educational excellence and institutional advancement.
I hold a degree in Criminology, Law, and Society from UC Irvine and a Master of Arts in Education from Pepperdine University.- Priority 1) High-quality education: FVSD has made considerable progress in enhancing instructional improvement. I want to keep this momentum. I will keep a strong focus on the core curriculum and targeted professional development for teachers. Creating a supportive environment that fosters engagement and allows for differentiated instruction is essential.
- Priority 2) Safety: School safety begins when our children step outside to go to school. There are opportunities to collaborate with the two cities to evaluate crosswalks and traffic patterns. I will advocate for implementing further layers of security within our school campuses to enhance our comprehensive security plan.
- Priority 3) Fiscal Responsibility: I will prioritize investments that impact student learning and well-being, ensuring every student receives the education and support they deserve while maintaining a fiscally sound budget. I will collaborate with my fellow trustees to utilize my extensive background in educational recruitment to develop a strategic plan to increase enrollment.
- Engaged with the community
- Accountable
