A longtime Loudoun County resident, attorney, and former educator, Atoosa Reaser represents House District 27. In her first term, Atoosa passed 20 bills, with 15 signed into law by a Republican governor—delivering bipartisan results in a time of deep division.

As a first generation immigrant and English language learner, Delegate Reaser is the first Iranian-American elected to a state-level office in Virginia. Delegate Reaser’s journey to public service is an uncommon path that reflects the diversity of the freshman class of legislators who entered the Virginia General Assembly in 2024.

Fleeing Iran during a revolution that stripped away freedoms—especially from women—she grew up determined to give back to the country that gave her family opportunity. Delegate Reaser continues to fight to ensure every Virginian has the same freedom and opportunity that brought her family to America.
  • The most pressing challenges in Loudoun County are affordability and economic stability—issues made worse by rising costs and federal policies that cut essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP. For too many families, young professionals, and recent graduates, major milestones like buying a first home feel out of reach. I have already passed legislation to make child care more accessible, to lower prescription drug costs, and to support seniors and veterans: I will continue that work to ease these financial pressures.
  • Access to a world-class education is another priority. Our public schools are the backbone of our community and a major driver of economic growth - they are why families and businesses come to Loudoun. I am committed to securing full state funding so our students, teachers, and staff have the resources they need to succeed. Just as importantly, I will continue working to ensure every child learns in a safe and inclusive environment. My work on anti-hazing reforms and expanding access to telehealth shows my commitment to protecting students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • We must also confront gun violence, now the leading cause of death among children in Virginia. I have successfully passed two laws to protect students against gun violence, with strong bipartisan support. We need further strengthening of safe storage laws though incentives and accountability measures, and we must close the intimate partner loophole.
Education, energy, economy, and the judicial system.
My first job was folding clothes in a retail establishment. It taught me to be organized!
Local option to negotiate affordable assisted living facilities for our seniors.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Virginia

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
