Nevada: On Thursday, November 10, the Nevada Supreme Court carried out its annual crack down on lawyers who have failed to meet continuing education requirements set by the Board of Continuing Education of the State Bar of Nevada. The court notified over 100 lawyer in September that they had not yet completed the necessary 12 hours of continuing legal education. However, according to Thursday's announcement, 42 of that original group failed to comply and now have their licenses suspended until they meet the set requirements. The twelve hour requirements includes two hours of ethics and professional conduct that may be completed in live seminars, web or podcasts, or audiotapes. According to a board spokesperson around 40, out of the roughly 7,000 registered with the board, is the normal number of lawyers suspended by this process each year.[1]
