Martin ran for election to the Alachua County Court.
Primary: He was defeated in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 18.0 percent of the vote. He competed against Susanne Wilson Bullard and Jose Moreno.

Education
Martin earned his undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University and his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.[3]
Career
Martin's experience includes 15 years as Alachua County Assistant Public Defender. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida College of Law. He is also a faculty member for the Prosecutor/Public Defender Trial Training Program and is a certified County Court Mediator and Family Mediator.[4]
